Our Mission, "To make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world"
"Town Hall" meetings
There will be three town hall style meetings scheduled in October for members and friends of EUMC to discuss the findings of the consultation team. This will be a Q & A format led by members of our Leadership Team. Childcare will be available during these meetings. The meetings will be held in the sanctuary of the church. The dates and times of the town hall meetings are:
Sunday, October 22nd at 11:00 am
Tuesday, October 24th at 7:00 pm
Monday, October 30th at 7:00 pm
These meetings will be followed by a church conference in November (TBA) where members of Eureka UMC will decide to accept or to reject the prescriptions offered by the HCI team.
Sunday, October 22nd, "Seeing and Being Seen", part two of "The Art of Neighboring" sermon series.
What if Jesus actually meant what he said, when he invites us to love our neighbors? What does this look like? Who are your neighbors? Do you know them? Do you love them? Be sure to join us on Sunday as we dig deeper into "The Art of Neighboring" as we consider some of the last words of Jesus in Matthew 28 known as "The Great Commission". Each person attending the worship services this Sunday will also receive a special gift from the church to encourage you to live out the words of Jesus in a real and practical way.
We offer two distinct worship services on Sunday morning.
Our 9:45 am contemporary worship service includes modern Christian music led by 'midnight prayer', our amazing praise band. Our JAM (Jesus and Me) Children's Ministry also meets at 9:45 am for ages 3 years old through the fifth grade.
9:45 am Worship songs:
Your Grace Is Enough
Today Is The Day
This Is Amazing Grace
Our 8:30 am traditional worship service includes timeless Christian hymns led by our Chancel Choir; the same message is offered at both worship services
8:30 am hymns:
We Gather Together
I Want Jesus to Walk with Me
**Anthem ~ With a Heart of Faith
Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee
Childcare is available during both worship services in our newly renovated and professionally staffed nursery for children ages birth through 2 years old. We invite middle school and high school age youth to attend XP3 at 9:45 am (2nd and 4th Sundays of the month) or to join their families during the worship services on Sunday mornings.
We invite our first time guests to visit www.eurekaumc.org and click the "Are you a first time guest?" link near the top of the page.
See you on Sunday!

Sometimes life can remove the joy that many of our friends experience during this season. This is a service of remembrance, hope, and healing for individuals and families who are looking for joy in the midst of pain or loss during this Christmas season.
New app is LIVE!
DOWNLOAD THE EUREKA UMC APP TODAY!
2015 marked the first time in history when more people accessed the internet through their smart phone rather than a desk top or lap top computer. We have had a great team, under the leadership of Lisa Koltun, developing a new app which will also be connected to our new website. The app is a great resource to find information to grow, connect, and serve at EUMC.
We launched our new website this week! It can be found at the same address, www.eurekaumc.org. The new site is easier to navigate and is much more compatible with our new church app. A big THANK YOU to Lisa Koltun for her amazing work to completely build and launch this new site in just over a week's time!
Upcoming opportunities to Connect, Grow, or Serve through EUMC!
We are forming a media team!
We would love to connect with youth and adults who have an interest in serving in several different roles at the church:
App development and updates
Social media updates
Live stream camera operators
If any of this sounds interesting to you, please contact the team at firstname.lastname@example.org
This will be a fun and exciting way to serve at Eureka UMC!
WOW Fall Coat Drive
Do you have jackets or coats you no longer use? Have your kids out-grown theirs? Please save them; WoW (Women of Worship) is doing a coat drive this fall. You may bring them to church and put them in the box in the Commons Area. We will collect the coats through October. Thank you!

Did you know that Eureka UMC implemented a new path to connection for our new guests about a year ago? This new path has welcomed and connected 27 new members over the past 12 months!
This new path to connection is called "Next Steps" because it encourages individuals and families to take the next step to connect, grow, and serve through their faith.
Our new guests begin by meeting with Pastor Tim at one of the monthly "Ice Cream with the Pastor" gatherings. This is an informal conversation where guests can ask questions about the church, what it means to follow Jesus, and to also ask "what is our next step?"
The new guests then form a group and begin the Connect Class. These classes form about once very three months. During their four classes together, they learn about prayer, serving, giving, worship, what it means to follow Jesus, and what it means to be part of a United Methodist Church. During this class, they also complete an online spiritual gifts assessment and a personality type assessment.
After they have completed the Connect Clas, they are paired with one of our Connect Coaches. The Connect Coach is a member of our Leadership Team who meets with the new guest for a 45 minute, one on one conversation about their faith journey and their spiritual gifts. The goal of the Connect Coach is to help the new guest find the best connection into the life of the church where they can grow and serve in their faith. The new guests then have an option to be baptized (if not previously baptized) and to join the church. The Connect Coach maintains ongoing conversations with the new guests for six months to ensure that they have found a connection into the life of EUMC.
Have you been part of EUMC for a few weeks, months, or even years and looking for the "next step"? Please contact our connect team at email@example.com to begin this amazing journey!
Grace and peace,
