PAIN. This is perhaps one of the most understood aspects of our lives and it leaves many of us asking a question like this, "if God is all loving, why is there pain in this world? Why is there pain in my life?"
So what do we do with the pain we experience in life? Does pain tend to push you away from God? Or does pain have the capacity to draw you nearer to God?
Inside of life's painful moments are some of the best opportunities for hope. This can be a game changer in how we understand pain and how through it we can find our hope in Christ.
Join us on Sunday as we continue our current series, "Game Changers". The theme for Sunday is "Pain". Pastor Tim will be preaching from John 11.

Upcoming opportunities to Connect, Grow, or Serve through EUMC
We have some great opportunities to serve in our community over the next few weeks!
Eureka Days: Our JAM (Jesus and Me) Children's Ministry will be part of the Kid's Corner at Eureka Days on Saturday, September 8th in the afternoon. We will be serving and connecting with the families and kids in Eureka through various fun activities including FOUR Euro-Jump features.
American Ninja Warrior Kids Course: Our JAM Children's Ministry will be hosting this incredible event on Saturday, September 15th from 3-5 pm. We are expecting a very large turnout and would love to invite you to be part of this incredible, community event!
We have identified a family in Eureka that will benefit greatly from some renovations to their home. Their home, although not in the floodplain, was damaged by the intense rain event last year that caused the record flooding. Rain water flooded their home and destroyed the flooring and part of the drywall. Team Rubicon 'gutted' the house in May 2017 and nothing has been done to restore the home. We are in the process of organizing a team in partnership with St. Mark's Lutheran Church to complete this project. Dates are TBD but will likely be in early to mid August. Our volunteer team coordinator for this project is Tom Brozka. If you'd like to be part of the team, whether for a few hours or a few days, please contact Tom at email@example.com .
The scope of this project will include moving large items (the family will be moved out of their home for about a week), demolition work, cleaning, drywall repairs, painting, new flooring, and repairs in the kitchen and bathroom.
American Ninja Warrior is incredibly popular! Many kids (and their parents) love watching these competitors compete on some amazing obstacle courses.
We invite you to bring your children, grandchildren, and their friends to be part of our American Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course for Kids on Saturday, September 15th from 3-5 pm. This amazing, family friendly event will be held on the South parking lot of Eureka UMC!
